The Health Services project

"Our aim is to provide primary health care services to all with special emphasis on maternal and child health care through a well equipped mobile medical van and team consisting doctor, lady doctor, community health workers, pharmacists with all essential medicines. The services provided by us are;

1) Treatment of common diseases and injuries,

2) Provision of essential drugs,

3) Maternal health care

i) Ante-natal care ii) Intra-natal care iii) Post-natal care

4) Child health care: Vaccination and weight
    monitoring.

5) Services regarding family planning and referral      services

6) Besides health services, health education
    meetings and workshops are also held from time
    to time.

7) Those women who can′t come to the van, our
    CHW provide them some facilities at their home
    also,like:Iron Folic acid tablets and Calcium to
    women who need ANC and PNC.Family planning
    spacing methods like oral contraceptive
    pills and barrier methods.

  THE NEED IN INDIA

  i) For the development of any nation it is very important that its people should live healthy, disease free and well informed life. India has a developing economy and a huge population. The following data is itself telling what the reality of health services in India is and how much effort is required to provide basic health services and sanitation to all;

  ii) Lack of infrastructure, unattended hospitals, costly medicines, highly restrictive society for women, illiteracy and lack of knowledge of simple preventive measures and inability to access any proper health care further complicates the above problem.

  OUR APPROACH

  A participatory 3 tier health care system:

  Community Level:

  CHWs and TBAs working in the slums and villages on a daily basis; trained and supported with medicines and kits by us.

  Mobile Medical Services:

  Fully equipped, staffed mobile medical van with essential primary health care medicines including malaria, TB, Antibiotics, Epilepsy, Hypertention and Diabetes medicines.

  Hospital Services:

  Multi-speciality and Super-speciality 230 bedded General Hospital with diagnostic laboratory and imaging services [X-ray, USG and ECHO].

• Dissemination

  DISSEMINATION

  A weekly mother & child health care and primary health care services are delivered to 10000 slum dwellers of 8 slums of Varanasi.

  Primary health services to 90000 villagers in 13 block of Mirzapur district through a network of 100 Community Health Workers and Trained Birth Attendants

  Training:

  Training of 40 TBAs and more than 70 CHWs of Varanasi and Mirzapur district.

  Monitoring:

  Regular monitoring and supervision in the field and digital monitoring in weekly meetings.

  Providing Nutrition Supplements:

  120 pregnant women and children under 3 years of age provided with Pure Cow′s Milk thrice a week.
